Another counterfeit
The cards listed here are counterfeits. Don't believe me? Google "counterfeit pro duo" for yourself and read the guide. I've bought two counterfeit cards to far. One from ebay, and one from here (amazon). There are a lot of people complaining of file corruption and such, this is because the cards are fake.
BETTER THAN SONY
i bought this and i will say that i am impressed. they work perfectly and actually are in my opinion better than the orginal ans saved me 20 dollars on top of that . thanx could not be happier !!. the other reviewer must be sleeping because both thumbs up!!
Stick with the brand names!
You'll thank me later for this review! I ordered this because there were no negative reviews (actually, no reviews period), it was a few bucks cheaper than Sandisk's cards, and the seller guaranteed full capacity and functionality of the brand names. I received the item exactly as pictured, which was in generic casing with no brand markings.
Upon inserting into my Sony HDR-CX7, it stated "This memory stick may not be able to record or play images correctly." This occured repeatedly even after manually creating an image database file with the camera, and formatting the card several times.
Also, the card was not easily recognized in my Dell monitor's card reader, and I could only access it about 50% of the time in an external USB reader. I tried it with several other Sony cameras (two still cams and one video), and either got corrupted files, or the camera would reject it altogether. I packed it up and returned it the same day I received it.
I have never experienced these problems with Sony or Sandisk Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. These brands have always worked flawlessly for me. Do yourself a favor--spend the extra $10 for a Sandisk MS Pro Duo. Your precious memories are worth at least that much.
UPDATE: Something is fishy, because the original product I reviewed was a 4GB card with no Sony branding. It's now shown as a Sony 1GB card. As for the other reviewer who thinks I was sleeping, I'm glad yours works, but properly working cards sold by Sony, Sandisk, Lexar, or anyone else who bothers to put their name on the label, are a no-brainer--plug them in and go. Easy enough to do in your sleep. This card did not work in 4 different Sony cameras, for stills AND video. Nuff said.
