Comment: To offer Coleridge-Taylor's two most popular works and a ten-minute bonus at CFP price is an outstanding bargain. Hiawatha's Wedding Feast, conducted by Sargent, is a well-known old record which needs no advocacy from me and the sound has cleaned up splendidly here. George Weldon's Petite Suite de Concert brings out the bitter-sweet quality of the music in abundance and Bamboula (which I hadn't heard before) makes a very tuneful bonus. If you want to know why SCT was so highly rated in his time, here's your answer.
