Summary: What a let down...
Comment: Sadly I'd had this torch only two weeks (and only used it like three times) when the front section containing the LED's and connectors just fell out. I ended up having to glue the darn thing back together but now it's only half as bright.
The casing feels tough enough, shame about the internals. The springs and leaf springs it employs to maintain contact with the battery pack just allow too much motion within the torch - hence the flickering/unreliability other users have reported.
Save yourself some cash, and get a quality unit instead - you'll be happier in the long run!

Comment: my father in law bought this is hong kong for less than £1 about 3 years ago...very bright for its size...much brighter than the largese magnalite (whi i also have)...build quality generlly is perrt ygood, but failed after 3 years fair use

Comment: This torch never worked. Tried inserting batteries in every possible permutation (the torch came with no instructions) without success.

Summary: Not as Tough as It Looks
Comment: I've used the torch for about a year and it's proved excellent - a bright light, not heavy, easy on batteries, and handily pocket-sized. However, despite its tough appearance and feel, today it rolled off my desk, dropped onto a soft carpet, and now refuses to work. I would have expected it to have survived such a fall easily but it seems that it's not so much a toughguy as a bit of a wimp!

Comment: i bought this torch for my work, and boy did it NOT live up to the job!!! if your thinking of getting one, please note you will not get the one you see in the picture, what i got was a very cheap looking copy, i`ve had it less than 12 hours and 6, yes 6 of the LED`s have stopped working, so beware, keep your money, and get a geber or maglite insted!!!!!!
