Summary: Not quite up to the job
Comment: I have a hard disk camcorder and bought this to capture and edit my movies, only to find it doesn't work with HD cameras or on a USB. This is not new technology so for me a bit of a waste of money.

Comment: I bought this item to edit photos and videos and could not believe how easy it was to use. I had to go on the website and upgrade to Studio 11.1 so my CD/DVD burner could be recognised but once this was done I was away. Brillant software.

Summary: Studio 11 has many problems
Comment: I have been a Pinnacle Studio user since 2000 and always found it satisfactory, however since upgrading my OS to Windows Vista and purchasing Studio 11 I have been unable to capture video. It drops frames immediately capture starts.
Since August 16th I have been in communication with Pinnacle and now, two months later, they are still unable to offer a fix or find out what is wrong with their program.
Studio 10 and XP SP2 worked perfectly OK but there must be compatibility issues with this latest release and Vista. I will have change to Adobe software if they cannot fix it soon.
Do not waste your money on this one.

Summary: Do not waste your time or your money.
Comment: If you like spending hours wondering why certain clips won't import/render/playback properly, why the Make Disc operation insists on creating corrupt VOB files and like installing and re-installing (a Helpdesk favourite - a la IT Crowd), Studio 11 is for you. Studio 11 is super-slow just to compound your misery. It is bloatware par excellence so Vista users will be on familiar ground. Many useful basic functions are available at extra cost like MPEG2 encoding, NTSC/PAL, MP3 encoding etc. Like previous Studio versions, Studio 11 will be patched and may even be useable to some eventually. With Studio 11 you'll be forever waiting for the next patch (employing the Jam Tomorrow principle).

Summary: my opinion on pinnacle studio 11 ultimate
Comment: I am using pinnacle studio 10.7 before i decided to go for higher version of studio.
I purchased pinnacle studio 11 ultimate but i am not well satisfy with the software
Firstly,if you are new in video editing,i would advice not to go for earlier version.And if you are not a pc engineer or have a good knowwledge of pc,dont go for studio 11 ultimate.THis is because you will get a lot of crashes on your pc.
This is my experience:
It takes too long to load the software especially the bonus dvd (pal version).Its about 2hrs or 2hrs plus on high performance pc for the software to be completely loaded.its not encouraging.unlike adobe,it take less than 10 minutes.
During the process of loading the software i recieved a lots of prompt messages saying:sososo file does not match the set up cab file will you like to abort,retry or ignore.Its as if the software cd is corrupt when such message come up to on display.
futhermore,i experience a lot of crashes,sudio terminating unexpectedly,blue screen stop error message on my pc when working in studio or redering a movie.
Additionally,when i am editing in high definition (AVCHD).it takes me ages,days sometimes because of slow redering.
Pinnacle recommends 2.4 gigahertz processor i think,if you want to edit in high def.but i have pentium D 2.81 gigahertz processor still,editing in high def still takes all my processor's time (upto 100 percent) which is not good.This is one of the major reason why pc crash because all processor time as been allocated for studio,no available processor time for other applications or resources on the pc.
I also experience some application file not loading when i lauch the studio.for instace the auto color correction,whit balancing and some other video tools does not load when i launch the softawre.|This makes me to reload the software again and again when this happen.
However,this software is sweet.It makes your video looks like professional movie.the audio is great.The use of bias soup audio software in studio 11ultimate software makes audio from the movie sund grate.
finally,if pinnacle make some patches for the software,it would be greate.
