Editorial Reviews:

Make sure you put your foot down and go go go, in the next instalment in the iconic Mario Kart series. Mario and all of his much loved pals are planning to make a spectacular return in this definitive version of Mario Kart, providing the most action packed racing fun in the series. Mario Kart Wii will come bundled with a new and intuitive accessory the Wii Wheel which makes it one of the most accessible Mario Kart games to date and will allow even complete novices to compete on this title. For those more familiar on the Mario Kart series, Nintendo have covered all the bases with this title by offering five different control options: Wii Wheel, Wii Remote turned on side, Wii remote and nunchuck, classic controller and even the the Nintendo Gamecube controller, these variety of control options mean Mario Kart can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of there experience or level. Mario Kart Wii combines all the much-loved features from the series, and much more. Mario Kart Wii will serve up a whole new host of stunning new tracks, characters, weapons, and vehicles. If you are looking for world ranking domination you can take on up to 11 players simultaneously world wide using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service which will offer you the chance to race other players across the globe in a nail-biting contest of speed and skil! If you prefer to keep the rivalry a little closer to home? Try the multiplayer mode, in which up to 4 people will be able to challenge each other in the comfort of their own living room.

Summary: Fun for the family
Comment: As several people have already stated, this game is fun in a multi player race. If you play it by yourself you will get so angry you are liable to throw the wheel at your tv screen. The flying shells that blow you up right before the finish live, getting knocked off track from behind, actions like these get old really quickly, espeically when you are trying to unlock new courses. Overall, alot of fun to play with your partner or the kids, just don't play it alone!

Summary: Flawed but the best Mario Kart so far
Comment: As many have said, great game but the random nature of the 150cc races is really demoralising. Then again it does add to the lifespan because it is a lot harder to get gold on all the cups than in previous games. Hopefully with the next game they'll get rid of the blue shells and all the bloody lightning strikes that happen every single race. Great game though.

Summary: Want to buy an AMAZING game?
Comment: Well finally it's here! Mario Kart Wii! Is fun for everybody and there is a Wi-Fi connection so you can play with friends or against the world! Even though I'm Dianes' son she still thinks its' great aswell! Now buy the game, and happy racing!

Summary: Great fun
Comment: As a general summary of many of these extensive reviews, Mario Kart is a fun game for anyone of any age! Fairly easy to get through each track and win trophies, was just as do-able by 9 year old cousin, though not to same level of expertise! The online gameplay continues the fun when you've mastered all of the tracks yourself too.

Great game to play alone or with friends and family, some tracks from the old consoles too which are fun to see!

Definitely worthwhile to buy! My best game along with Wii sports!

Summary: Wii are Having Fun Racing!
Comment: After playing this game on my friend's Wii, I went out and bought a Wii and this game. That's how much I enjoyed it.

I have the original Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo. The basic game play is pretty much the same. You are controlling one of the characters from the Mario universe as you attempt to race around tracks and win. Along the way, you can pick up power ups to help you or hinder your opponents. Of course, that means they can attack you as well, so watch out.

With this incarnation, you've got 32 courses to play. You start out with half of them available and earn the other half as you win races. They include fun new courses created for this version as well as the best of the courses from the older incarnations of this game.

This game can be played by one person or up to four people, each needing their own controllers. Naturally, with four players, the screen becomes smaller, so you'd want to have a larger TV.

You can also play this game over the internet. I've raced against friends across town who also have it. Or, if none of them are on line, you can race against strangers. The game will set up matches from your region or around the world.

But what really makes this game amazing in the remote. Each copy comes with one steering wheel. That's right. Just put your regular remote in the wheel and suddenly you can steer your car. I still haven't figured out quite how they set the receiver to do that. You don't need to use the wheel, however. You can just use your remote, although it isn't nearly as much fun. Heck, you can even use your nunchuck controller if you'd like.

The graphics are quite uneven on this game. The newer levels look pretty good, but the older ones are done in the same, cheesy style. Admittedly the entire thing is rather cartoonish. But it really don't dampen my enjoyment in the slightest.

Overall, this is a fun game that I know I will be playing for a long time to come.
