Editorial Reviews:

For nearly 3000 years the astronaut Perry Rhodan, who has become immortal through a cell activator, has controlled the fate of his people, when suddenly an explosion shakes the centre of the Terranian Power. During this explosion Perry Rhodan's immediate confidante Mondra is kidnapped by extraterrestrial combat robots. Alone he tries to find the true reasons for the irruption as well as the manipulators behind the conspiracy. During his search he discovers recordings about the myth of a thought to be dead, extraterrestrial race that had enslaved humanity a long, long time ago - the Illochim. With bravery, cleverness and brilliant investigation, he manages to light up the darkness

His untiring search leads him to many foreign races across the galaxy, away from his mother planet Terra to the subterranean colonies of the planet Gom Callaedus in undiscovered enemy territory. While fighting with organ traders and exiled criminals the secret behind the dangerous incidents is finally solved: the truth about the awakened, life-threatening danger for the residents of the Milky Way is lying buried on the far away moon Betha

Summary: Nice job
Comment: In the context of all gaming, this is a three star game. In the context of other point and clickers that have come out recently, it is decidedly four star.

For starters, many of these games neglect graphics; happily, this is not the case with Rhodan. The anti-aliasing and texture options make it playable on older computers, and quite stunning on newer ones. A major part of creating the world a point and click gamer wants to be part of is making it realistic and immersive, and Rhodan certainly accomplishes this. Aurally, the music is apt, the voice acting is (mostly) believable and the sound effects are appropriate - they didn't just take random noises from the sound bank.

In a game of this type, certain things must be just so: The storyline, the settings, the puzzles, the characters and the humour are all majorly important. Rhodan delivers well on all of these fronts. An ancient mysterious race, a disappeared colleague, a variety of locales of the Rhodan universe including some new ones. The puzzles are worthy of special note; certain point and click games whom shall remain nameless are exasperating in that there is no logic to the puzzles. This is not the case here. The puzzles certainly become harder, and once or twice I found myself using the old "ask everyone everthing and use everything on everything" tactic. But when I figured the answer out, I always thought yeah, I should have gotten that really. The game actually chastises you for this type of thinking, as if to say we're better game-makers than that - if you use something on an item that makes no sense, Perry will occasionally say "And while we're trying things out, why don't I drill a hole in my knee and pour some milk in there?"

This game is better than the majority of the competition that has come out lately by a fair margin. Its major drawbacks are the length (although its not very short, a couple more locations would have been nice), and a few stability issues with Vista (but everything has those these days). It is a game you won't regret buying, and I for one very much look forward to a sequel.

Summary: Science fiction point and click game
Comment: The games story was classic science fiction which took me back to the journeyman series. The game was very exciting and was full of puzzles. It is a classic point and click and there were not any timed sequences or at least nothing that was challenging to do in time given. I gave it 3 stars for fun as the story and characterisation could have been deeper and there was a rushed feel about the ending, but 4 stars for being original in terms of most point and click games are not as 'out there' and this felt like they were trying to be original and it was not the usual girly type story nor was it predictable which was great. I would say next time (to the developers) don't rush the ending as we gamers notice and if its worth waiting for then do it even if it delays release date further.
