Loaded and wide, nüvi 760 has it all ? advanced navigation features, a widescreen display, preloaded maps, an FM transmitter, hands-free calling, traffic alerts and more. Summary: Nuvi 760 GPS Review
Comment: I am very satisfied with my purchase of the nuvi 760 gps. It has met all my expectations and more. I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a good gps with a lot of extras. Some of the points of interest were not up to date.

Summary: Great results
Comment: The Nuvi 760 is my second portable GPS unit, the first one was an LG LN 740. This is easy to set up and use and the size keeps it very portable but still with a bright screen that is large enough to see clearly. I have not used the MP3 or photo features yet. I would buy the same unit again and recommend it especially to those who routinely are driving in unfamiliar areas.

Pro-
Light and portable.
Picks up satellite quickly.
Very accurate directions in my metro area - it even tells me the side of the street for my destination.
Pretty intuitive interface - still worth spending a few minutes with it BEFORE you have to rely on it to get somewhere on time.
MSN direct integration with additional adapter.
Bluetooth paired easily with my first gen iPhone.
User configurable voice means you can choose the language speech and accent you like best.

Cons -
I didnt want to use the included windshield mount or adhesive dash mount so I had to purchase another part to have the powered cigarette lighter mount which I prefer.
Separate MSN traffic antenna takes an hour or so to load up the first time you use it.
No arrow on the bottom showing direction of next turn.

Summary: Love This Item
Comment: I'm coming off owning a Magellan GPS. The difference between the Garmin Nuvi and the old Magellan I had is night and day. The Garmin is fast and accurate and has taught me ways around traffic I didn't know existed (I drive to L.A. frequently from O.C.). It also works as well as the White Pages when you're trying to locate a business. Two thumbs up.

Summary: Dysfunction and lack of service
Comment: I recently decided to "step up" from my TomTom One to the promise of the Garmin Nuvi 760. I was particularly motivated by the intrinsic traffic features of the Nuvi 760. However, I'm sadly disappointed in the 760 for the following reasons:

* Required two hours of online updates (on a high-speed T1 connection)--which were convoluted and not intuitive.
* The Nuvi failed to function correctly on the road. After five minutes, the maps quit redrawing.
* Though it seemed apparent the failure was due to a corrupt map or installed software, there was no way to do a complete reinstall online.
* I emailed Garmin via their (hard to find) online service. To do so, I had to provide a good deal of information, including the software version installed on my Nuvi. When I finally heard back from Garmin (days later), they asked what software version I had installed--though my own data, included in their follow-up message clearly listed this information.
* When I provided this information to the Garmin representative (again), the response was, "What software version are you running? We have had trouble with one of our updates. We are working on a fix for this software and will release soon. Thank you for contacting Garmin International." Excuse me? So, I have a brand new Nuvi 760 which I am unable to use, and the response is that I have to wait for a software update? Not good.

Thank goodness for Amazon's fantastic customer service. They provided a replacement Nuvi--which has an older software release installed and works fine. But I am not impressed with Garmin; and if I had it to do again, I would stick with TomTom.

Summary: Garmin tech support excellent
Comment: Hi all,

I just got my Garmin Nuvi 760 and it's wonderful. It did not come with the 2009 city map upgrade but Garmin tech support unlocked the update online and walked me thru all the steps to complete the process. I also updated all relavent software as well. This unit works, so far, as advertized. One thing though, you should take the time to set this unit up before you take it on a road trip. I downloaded and looked through the entire owner's manual. Then called Garmin tech support when I thought I needed too. I never had to wait longer than 18 minutes.
Connected my Iphone via Bluetooth and all is working well. Have not played with the card slot yet, but I'm looking into Garmin's Audio Books.

I will keep updating this review as I go along

Enjoy
