Summary: moving forward
Comment: I love the old Judas Priest but am also pleased to hear that this new album is a serious effort to try to break new ground. These guy have lot of albums and it would be easy to just spit out some "formula" trracks that worked for them before, but here they are really breaking new ground and for an "old" band, that says alot. It's still Judas Priest and it great to hear that they still have great ideas and arent afraid to try them out and still have their signature sound as well.

Summary: What the F*@#
Comment: What the heck is Judas Priest thinking? Are they trying to be the new Spinal Tap? I never ever thought that I would say anything bad about one of my all time favorite bands, but this album SUCKS. I tried listening to it several times and with each listening, I got more pissed. I want the $35.00 I spent on the "delux package" back. Where's the riffs? where's the melody lines? Where are the cool melodic solos Priest are known for. It sounds like Glenn and K.K. are trying to impress all of these new shred kids out there. Sure they can play fast, we already know that. But what I don't understand is why they didn't add the classic priest style. It makes no sense. I will never buy another Priest album until I hear it first. I always loved Priest for their originality. If this is them trying to be like Pink Floyd and The Who, they failed miserably. Get back to what you do best. Rock & Roll. If it aint broke, don't fix it. This Album SUCKS!!!!!

Summary: A true masterpiece
Comment: I took me a while to get into this album. It's confusing at first, but after weeks of listening, it gives me chills. It's a masterpiece like no other Judas Priest album before it, and I can't stop playing it, it's addictive with its haunting melodies and Halford's almost painfully emotional voice.

Summary: Judas Priest concept CD
Comment: Like others who have reviewed the new Judas Priest CD, I have been a long time fan, even during the time when "Turbo" was relesed. Liked 'em then, still like 'em now. I admit that "Nostradamus" takes a little getting used to, especially for those of us who were introduced to Priest during British Steel-Defenders of the Faith time frame. What I really like about this CD is, well to me, is it's creativity. Kind of goes back to the Sad Wings of Destiny style. Yes it is different, but then so are just about every other Judas Priest CD's. Each has their own niche, and this one is no different. I enjoyed the storyline, the music, and of course, the vocals. Also, the fact that this is something that Priest wanted to do is felt throughout the CD. I applaud the effort and the final product that is "Nostradamus." Thanks to Judas Priest for the enjoyable journey.

Summary: Something new from the Priest... and the Priest still rules!
Comment: I've been a fan since I was 14. I'm now 43.
Disliked all albums since and including Turbo... but here we've got something very different that's sure to please the old fans. This is the same Priest that made me daydream about Metal when I was a kid -- bombastic, heroic and powerful. Plus -- as an added bonus -- this time they threw in their maturity composition-wise... so it's just an amazing adventure!
Sure, the lyrics may seem a bit preposterous to some... but this is what Priest does, and they do it better than anyone. If you read Tolkien looking for "cheese" you simply missed the point... same idea with the Priest.
Listen to Nostradamus without prejudice. If you think you're "too cool" or "too jaded" I'm sure there's other bands for you out there. This one is for the more mature Metal fan who remembers that old feeling and wants it back without having to dust off old albums.
Judas Priest "grew up" alongside their fans and they deliver the Metal the way we want it today... not the way we wanted it 30 years ago!
